Przemyśl Travel Guide - Przemyśl is a place in south eastern Poland in the province of Podkarpackie, covering an area of 44.1 km sq, situated at the foot of the Carpathians, with 66,750 inhabitants, as of June 2009. In 1999 it became part of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and was previously the capital of Przemyśl Voivodeship.
Past settlers were attracted by the fertile San Valley, where the Sandomierz Basin meets the mountain range known as the Carpathians. The Lendian Tribe, who belonged to the Western Slavs, erected a fortified town at the meeting point of important trade routes.
