Biecz Travel Guide - a place in south eastern Poland in the province of Malopolska. Biecz is both a town and municipality in south eastern Poland, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (region or province), in the Powiat of Gorlicki.

Set in the beautiful Carpathian Mountains and the Doły Jasielsko Sanockie, on the Ropa River. It is often referred to as “little Krakow” or the “pearl of the Carpathians.”

The town of Biecz is situated on a hill, 281 meters above sea level in the Carpathian foothills on the left bank of Ropa River.

The municipality of Biecz includes the town and the suburbs of: Belną, Załawiem, Hart, and Wapniskami Kurpiel and the surrounding villages of: Strzeszyn, Libusza, Korczyn, Profound, Grudna, Binarowa, Racławice, Rożnowice, Sitnica and Bugaj.

Geographically the area consists of hilly terrain, traversed by the river with rich vegetation, forests and unexploited mineral water springs.

Also in the various villages around Biecz you will come across other interesting historical sites. Run by the community of Biecz is the ‘Wooden Architecture Route', (Libusza, Binarowa) and the ‘Route of Cemeteries', from World War I.
