Bielsko-Biała Travel Guide - Bielsko-Biała in south western Poland in the province of Slaskie with about 175,500 inhabitants as of June 2009. Bielsko-Biała is composed of two former cities on opposite banks of the Biała River, Silesian Bielsko and Lesser Poland's Biała being amalgamated in 1951.

The older city of Bielsko dates back to the 13th century with Biała in the 18th century. The river was the state border during the 17th and 18th century between Poland and the Habsburg monarchy with the town of Bielsko belonging to Cieszyn Silesia and Biała to Little Poland.

Bielsko-Biała is a district city at the foot of the Beskid Śląski and the Beskid Maly. Known as a hundred-industry city. The local industry was associated with the textile trade and good quality wool. Fiat Auto has a large factory here. The town is host to the famous Animated Cartoon Studio producing films mainly for children.

Marganski Aviation is located at Bielsko-Biała.

Baia Mare is twinned with Baia Mare in Romania.
